Done With Week One

I managed to survive my first week back OP. It definitely had some bumps along the way, but I managed to get my ass back in gear after 2 nights of binging. I weighed-in this morning 2.4lbs lighter than I weighed last Friday! I was hoping to just maintain this week after going out drinking and eating tacos on Friday and then binging both Sunday and Monday nights.

I've been making about 3-4 goals each day for the past several days and I think it's been helping me stay on track. Granted they are the same 3 or 4 goals everyday - journal, drink 64oz water, exercise (or not depending if it's a rest day), and getting in 5 fruits/veggies. I figure this is a good place to start and then I'll work on adding other goals, like getting in 2 dairy and getting my healthy oils in. Yesterday I didn't reach my 5 fruits/veggies goal, but I did get at least 3 in. I should have no problems with that today. I've already got my 5 planned out.

I'm getting ready to leave work for a bit to go home and exercise. I love that I am so close to the office that I can go home and workout during the middle of the day. This is particularly nice since I live on the third floor and I always feel like I'm making a ton of noise for the person below me. I don't think she's there during the middle of the day though. I have spoken to her once about the whole noise thing - she said she doesn't hear me, but I told her to let me know if it becomes a problem.

Not much planned for this weekend. I really need to clean my apartment. The floors need to be mopped so bad. Fun fun fun. I am hiking on Sunday morning with my sister. That's always fun and definitely a good workout. I think I might try and put my Christmas shopping list together. I need start working on that if I'm going to be able to afford to get everyone something.

All About Me

If you're visiting my humble abode in the PRB, you're probably here from Hilly's site. Welcome!

Here's a little bit about myself - the basic stats:

Name: Stephanie (or Steph)
Age: 28
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Relationship Status - Going through a divorce
Job - IT related
Current Weight: 176.6
Goal Weight: 135ish

About my weight loss journey. I started Weight Watchers in January 2001. I lost 46lbs in about a year and half and was at my all time low (150.8) right before I got married in June 2002. Since then I've gained as much as 26lbs of it back, but have hovered mainly in the 160's for the last several years. It seems that when I get back to about 175 is when I kick my butt into gear and try to get back on track again. I normally get back into the 160's and sometimes even in the lower end, but never make it back into the 150's. Well, I'm back at that point again where I need to get back on track. Last Friday I actually weighed in at 176.6 - although I had seen 178 on the scale a few days before.

My goal weight. My unofficial goal is to get down to 135-ish. I've never been thin, so I really have no idea what I should weigh and what will look good on me. My Mom and sister have both done WW before and they look really good around 132-135. I'm thinking that I'll probably be good around 135-138 just because I do strength training and will hopefully have a little more muscle on me than they did when they got to goal.

My exercise. Although my eating has been horrible for a long time, I've been exercising on a pretty conisitent basis for the last month or so. I use The Firm at home and absolutely love it. It combines everything I need to get in shape. I see amazing results when I am regularly working out, unfortunately I can't seem to stick with it long enough to get to goal. I think about 3 months is the longest I've made it before just completely falling off the workout wagon.

What else is there to know about me? I am really shy in person, but once I get to know you, I will share anything with you. More than you probably want to know. LOL. I like to go hiking on the weekends, read books (mainly chic lit right now, but also like Dean Koontz type books too), I just started needlepointing (to keep me out of the kitchen), and I love to sing. Unfortunately for me and everyone else around me, my singing is terrible. I think I'm pretty much tone deaf. So if you see some crazy girl singing at the top of her lungs in her, that's probably me. :-)

If you've read this far, thank you very much, and hopefully you'll leave me a comment to let me know you were here. Can't wait to get to know everyone!

Lazy Sunday

This week has flown by. I can't believe the first week of October is over. The weather is finally starting to cool down, thank goodness. I needed a sweatshirt last night while sitting outside on the patio with friends. I just hope that the cool weather is here to stay and the hot weather is done for the year.

I think I'm becoming a Bare Minerals addict. I really love this stuff. Last weekend my step-Mom, step-sister, and I went to Sephora and I picked up the starter kit along with the Tahitian Sunset eye kit. This stuff is just so easy to use. I will admit though that the first few times I used the "warmth", I had a noticeable color on my forhead. I think I'm getting better at it. :-)

My big news for the week - I went to see a lawyer about filing for divorce from my husband on Thursday. This is a huge step for me. We've been separated for 3 months and it's time to finish this and move on. So far our split has been mostly amicable. I hope to keep it that way. I'm not really asking for much and I hope that whatever lawyer he goes to says sign these papers before she changes her mind and wants more.

The only thing I'm concerned about is our house. We bought the house a month before I moved out. Unfortunately, we can't sell the house for a year per the contract we signed with the builder. It's crappy, but what are we going to do? Keep your fingers crossed that the housing market gets better and we don't lose too much on our house.

Now I just need to figure out what I'm going to with our dog. C doesn't want Molly anymore, but has kept her around until I figured out what I wanted with our relationship. Now that I've told him that I am going to file, he's really ready to get rid of the dog. I really miss my dog, but I'm in a small (less than 600 sq ft) 1 bedroom apartment. It doesn't seem fair to have her in my apartment. This is completely selfish, but I also enjoy not having any responsibility. I don't have to worry about coming home and taking care of the dog. I can stay overnight at friends house because I don't need to worry about letting Molly out. Decisions, decisions.

Anyone want an adorable 5yr old female Border Collie?

Well, I should go take my shower for the day. It's been a really lazy day so far - seems like most Sundays are.

Wow, it's been almost a month since I last blogged. So much for updating everyday. I just don't think my life is exciting enough to post everyday plus I tend to forget I even have a blog. Maybe I should I try for once a week to start and see where it goes from there.

I had a great time in Vegas. My sister and I hung out and did lots of walking, shopping, a little bit of gambling. We went to The Voodoo Lounge at The Rio. It was.....okay. It was $20 each to get in and then first round of drinks (for the 2 of us) was $30 plus tip! We were drinking Raspberry Vox Vodka and Red Bull, but still! $15 for a freaking drink? Then of course some drunk woman ran into my sister and spilled some of the drink. Ugh...

Luckily (in more ways than one) we met these 2 guys, we'll call them ? (can't remember his name) and J, and they ended up buying the rest of our drinks for the night. The night started off well. The four of us were talking and having a good time. Then I made the mistake of guessing ?'s age - he asked after I told him how old I was. I guessed a little high (by 2 years) and he got seriously offended. After pouting for quite some time he finally joined the group again. Then later I told him my situation - I'm separated from husband. He freaked out about that saying the next day I was going to go back to my husband. I told him if he wasn't he wasn't okay with it, that was fine with me and he should walk away. I ended up feeling like I was fighting with the guy. It was crazy.

The craziness continued as ? continued to hit on me and then started hitting on my sister. He was so obvious about it. So not cool. When the club closed they invited us back to their room saying "nothing has to happen". Yeah fucking right. Why the hell do we need to go back to your room if "nothing has to happen"? We ended up fighting again....we just met the guy a few hours before and we're fighting. What's wrong with that picture? Finally, T and I got into a cab and went back to our hotel.

We decided to have a few more drinks, so we went to Bill's Casino (formerly Barbary Coast). As were walking over there, we're still talking about the crazy guy. I still couldn't believe what had happened and very loudly said, "men suck" as we were getting ready to walk into the casino. This guy, B, walking next to us said, "not all of us suck". We ended up talking to B and invited him to have a drink with us while we told him the story of the 2 guys at The Rio. He was such a sweet guy and cute to boot. :-) We sat around and had a few drinks. Then we decided to go gamble some. We went and played 3 card poker. He put the money down for T and I to play, but T decided not to and just watched. We played for a little while. I ended up 10 bucks ahead, so B split the winnings with me - I got 5 bucks. Then we played black jack. Not sure how I did overall, but B won some money. He gave T and I $50 each. I guess I didn't do too bad.

I had a great time with B. He was such a nice guy, easy on the eyes, and a good kisser. If we hadn't had our experience at The Rio, we would have never met B. I guess sometimes bad things have to happen for good things to happen.
